Spring flowers.

I took a break from endless college basketball yesterday to go to Duke Gardens and drink in some early spring color.

There are always 2 or 3 weeks in March when things start to bloom, and they’re so short-lived and lovely that I want to stop time. I love following the spring progression: crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths, tulips, cherry blossoms, and then in a few weeks, we’ll get the more showy things like azaleas.

For now, I’m loving the fleeting, delicate spring flowers, and trying not to wish too hard for the bigger, flashier blossoms of summer.
